Make a Shadow Clock

People long ago tell time by the sun moving across the sky. People long ago invented a sundial. When the sun is high up in the sky a shadow is short. The sun moves east to west throughout the day. A shadow does not move in the same direction as the sun. If the sun was directly above a standing pencil the shadow of the pencil would be short. March 10, 2004
