Life Underground

Worms, moles and prairie dogs live underground. Those long thin tunnels underground are called burrows. I think an animal underground can stay cool in summer. Burrows help underground animals stay cool. Worms eat their way through dead plants so air can come through the soil. I know the prairie dogs entrance to its burrow when I see a mound of dirt. My favorite animal under ground is the prairie dog. May 17, 2004
