A coast is a place where the ocean meets the land. When the wind blows it makes waves and the waves wash up on the shore and make a tide pool. Oceans make high tides and low tides so that the animals that live in the tide pool can have some fresh water. Octopuses and sea urchins and sea stars and mussels and barnacles live in the tide pool.

This is a picture of the ocean meeting the coast.

This is a picture of a tide pool and some animals are living in it.
