A War
George Washington led an army with dirty rags. They lived in a place called Valley Forge. Valley Forge was a line of cold wooden huts. It was winter at that time, so rags didn't warm those soldiers up. Many men didn't survive that winter. But the ones that were left, grew into a strong team. George Roger Clark took 175 men to steal some British forts called Cahokia, Vincennes, and Kaskaskia. Nathan Hale was a spy. He spied on the British, and they caught and hanged him. Von Steuben trained 100 men at a time. Steuben said to the soldiers that even rags could be kept clean. Nathanael Greene was in charge of supplies. By spring time, there was more clothing, and food.~
